WELCOME:

Hello, and welcome to my website.   Thanks very much for looking.

I am a self-employed Wedding and Newborn photographer.

I live near Yeovil, in Somerset.  I am a happily married lady, with a lovely family and three beautiful young grand-children.

I currently have a studio ‘set-up’ in our home.  But I also do home visits and work on location.

I have over 30 years experience in photography.  My work over the years has been quite diverse, covering a wide range of photographic genres.

I have covered local music festivals, and I have done an album cover.

I also have a passion for Landscapes & Nature.  (the photographs shown in my portfolio are available for sale, on canvas, or prints).

I do ‘baby bumps’, newborn, and baby photography, and 1st Birthday cake smashes.  I love to photograph children of all ages.

When I photograph Weddings, I always work with a second photographer, this is our unique selling point, we work well together to capture all those joyous moments on your special day, from Bride preparation right through to First Dance.  Because there are two of us, we can cover Team Bride, and Team Groom at the same time.  We can literally be in two places at the same time.

I love my work, it’s a real privilege to witness the joy, and share in life’s celebrations.

I have also enjoyed exhibiting my work, having had a number of exhibitions.

 My journey in Photography:

I was given a Kodak Instamatic camera for my tenth birthday, and it all started from there.  I became totally fascinated with photography.  I wanted to photograph just about everything.

My first SLR camera was a Zenith-E, with a Helios Lens.  A completely manual SLR, one of Russia’s first and finest cameras, with a light meter, back in the days of Film.  This gave me a great insight and understanding of shutter speeds and apertures, because everything had to be set manually.

After that camera I bought a Pentax ME, and additional lenses, a power winder, and a flash, the addiction had begun.

I had my own dark room and studio equipment by the age of 16 and I studied photography at Art College.

I always wanted to be a Photographer, there was never any doubt about that.

I have owned lots of different cameras since then, and I continue to take photographs of all things, great and small – The world just has so much to offer.  There is beauty in everything if you look for it.

Even when I haven’t got a camera with me, in every day life, I literally see potential ‘images’   They are just moments, mere fractions in time.  I can capture them in my mind, but I’d much sooner capture them in a photograph.

I think that’s what fascinates me most.  A photograph can literally freeze time, in an instant.  With the click of the shutter, it’s captured forever.

Ask me which is my favourite Photograph?
